For Dignity

For Dignity brings a beautiful range of homewares, jewelry, accessories and gifts, all sourced from ethical brands supporting and empowering vulnerable women across Asia. We had the opportunity to catch up with owner Heather to learn more about For Dignity’s story and mission:

Hi Heather, tell us a bit about yourself and For Dignity:

Between jobs in international aid and development, I started For Dignity as a social enterprise to support the end of exploitation of women in Asia. The gifts, homewares, bags and more are made by those who have been taken out of vulnerable situations and given a fair wage, a healing workplaces, building up their skills, supporting their children’s education, providing safety and dignity. Already For Dignity has been part of the reason many women now have hope and I want to see this impact continue and grow!

What are you passionate about?

That all people are valuable, my family, justice and advocacy, gardening, the environment, bike riding, travel, bee keeping and good food….

What does ethical consumerism mean to you?

It means so much, choosing to use my money to help make the world a better place, so avoiding; creating rubbish, plastic waste and the exploitation of others in the supply chain. It means I live a bit more simply, being content with what I have and making more thoughtful choices when I purchase.

Describe your perfect day!

Blue skies, sun shining, outside exploring in nature with good friends, good food and loads of laughter.
